In this post we will use what is commonly referred to as the Romans Road.
The Romans Road is a process of walking someone through the book of Romans in the Bible and revealing to them that they are a sinner in need of a savior and that the savior has already come and is ready to redeem them from their sin if they will but ask. That savior is Jesus Christ the Son of the Living God.
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Every human being by the very nature of being human has sinned (displeased God) and within themselves can not even come close to attaining to the glory that God would have us to walk in.Because we are all in the blood line of the first man named Adam we all have his sin nature within us and this sin has been imputed unto all mankind. (I Corinthians 15:22).
Romans 3:10-18 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
3:11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.
3:12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
3:13 Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips:
3:14 Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness:
3:15 Their feet are swift to shed blood:
3:16 Destruction and misery are in their ways:
3:17 And the way of peace have they not known:
3:18 There is no fear of God before their eyes.
No one is innocent and this passage gives us a glimpse at what our sin looks like in the eyes of a Holy God.Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
One day, if we do not accept the free gift of salvation then we will have to pay for our sin. This is not just a physical death but it is an eternal spiritual death. We will be judged by a Holy God and His judgments are righteous and true (Revelation 16:7).
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Within this same passage we are also given hope though. The free gift of this very same Holy God is eternal life through His son Jesus Christ. How did God give us a gift of life through His son Jesus Christ? I am glad you asked!!
Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Yes the wages of sin is death; but God loved us enough to send his son to die in our place so that we don't have to die.
Remember in the first step we found out that God imputed to all mankind sin because of one man.
GOOD NEWS!! He also, by one man (Jesus Christ) imputed life unto all mankind!!!
The death of Jesus payed the price for our sin and His resurrection proved that God accepted this payment.
Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Because of Christ's death on the cross, all we have to do is confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in our hearts that God raised Him from the dead...THAT'S IT!! It really is that simple...Don't over think it...don't make it harder than it needs to be....CONFESS and BELIEVE!!Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Just in case you are wondering if it really is that easy, YES...IT IS.... and this verse is proof.Romans 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
Of course doubt will set in and people may try to tell that there was nothing to it but emotionalism...don't be discouraged because this verse gives us assurance that we can have peace with God because Christ Jesus lives in our hearts.Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
This is saying that you no longer need to worry about your past because you now are focused on your future...your past is past...LEAVE IT THERE!!!Romans 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
8:39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
This passage is God's promise to all those that believe on His Son unto salvation...WHAT A PROMISE!!If you would like to give your heart to Christ then I have placed a prayer at here at the end.
The words of this prayer WILL NOT save you! Only confession of Jesus Christ as Lord and acceptance of Him into your heart can do this but we understand that not everyone will know what to say nor how to say it so we give you this prayer with the expectation that if you are saying it that you are also believing what you say...and that's a good thing.
"Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and that my sins have separated me from your love. I also recognize that my sin makes me worthy of death in your eyes. But I now know that Jesus Christ is Lord and He died once to save me from this punishment and I now accept Him into my heart and I will choose to live for you. Thank you for forgiving me and giving me eternal life. Amen."
My prayer is that someone will find their way to this sight and give their heart to Christ and work for Him.
Love and God Bless,
Jonathan D. Saunders.
